Description:  The official betrothal portrait of Marie Antoinette.  In 1769 King Louis XV of France, dispatched artist Joseph Decreux to Austria, to paint her portrait and return with it to Versailles.  The king wanted to see what she looked like before her arranged marriage with his grandson; the Dauphin, was to take place.  Louis XV was very pleased with the portrait and the marriage arrangements proceeded.  This beautiful and elegant portrait was painted when Marie was only 14 years old!

 

The portrait of Marie has been layered over handwriting from a copy of the official French Revolutionary inventory of her jewelry, dated 21 August 1795.  This is jewelry about her jewelry!  The collage artwork is placed between glass and receives a silver soldered bezel with a pretty soldered ribbon technique.  The image has received glittered touches and there are Swarovski Crystals and Pearls added to the pendant for extra sparkle.

 

Dimensions:  Pendant measures approx. 1&1/8” wide by 2&3/4” tall.  A FREE 30” nickel plated ball chain is included, so you can wear it right away!  Arrives in a pretty ribbon tied gift box with a charming product information card enclosed.
